March is Women's History Month and Endometriosis Awareness Month! So, as far as I'm concerned, March is all about the ladies! Well, except for St. Patrick's Day. We'll give him one day.

So far in March, I've honored India Arie, Shania Twain, and TLC with a Throwback Thursday!

This week, I am honoring none other than Alicia Keys!

"Girl on Fire" was from Alicia Key's fifth album of the same name.

Fun fact: Billy Squier actually has a writing credit on "Girl on Fire" because a drum sample was used from his song, "The Big Beat".

According to Wikipedia, "The song rose to number seven in its fifth week, becoming her fifteenth Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at number 2 behind Rihanna's Diamonds. It has peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and has sold 2 million copies in the United States as of February 13, 2013."

"Girl on Fire" became an International success as well. The song went to number one in Austria, South Korea, and Slovakia. Top 5 in the Netherlands, Brazil, Israel, Denmark, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, France, and the United Kingdom. Top 20 hit in the US, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, Italy, Finland, Hungary, and Spain.

There are three versions of "Girl on Fire". The main version we have all come to know and love, the 'Inferno' version featuring Nicki Minaj, and the 'Bluelight' version that is a more stripped down, sensual vibe.
