The Pandemic Inspired Throwback Thursday songs continue with Lady Gaga!!

"The Cure" by Lady Gaga was released as a stand-alone single! That's pretty unusual. It was not part of any of her albums. Interesting.

Lady Gaga took the place of Beyonce as the headliner at Coachella in 2017 because Beyonce was super pregnant! At that performance, Lady Gaga debuted "The Cure". Instead of waiting for a new album, she just released it!

Gaga's album, Joanne had been released six months prior.

According to Wikipedia, Gaga's long time collaborator DJ White Shadow explained what the song was about, "... it's like when you're a creative person you do your best to try and combat evil with creative stuff, so that was kind of the vibe."

"The Cure" didn't have a conventional official music video, instead the lyric video will have to do!

"The Cure" maybe isn't Lady Gaga's biggest hit, but the song still did pretty well. In the same Wikipedia article, "In the United States, "The Cure" debuted at its peak position of number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Gaga's 20th top-forty entry on the chart."

"The Cure" eventually did reach platinum status.

I never understood why this song didn't blow up. I loved it and I think we can all use the positive vibes these days!
