It's Halloween and a Thursday! I didn't want to do an obvious Halloween song like "Thriller" or "Monster Mash". Which, honestly, both of which are actually too old for our Throwbacks. I try to keep to the 90s and newer.

So, I had to dig deeper. Then it hit me! Monday night on a Halloween themed Dancing With the Stars, one of the dances was to Beyonce "Sweet Dreams" and I thought, that's what I'm doing. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.

"Sweet Dreams" by Beyonce was released in 2009 and was the sixth single off of the album, I Am...Sasha Fierce.

Fun fact, the original title was "Beautiful Nightmare".

The song was actually leaked eight months before Beyonce's album was released. This was the first time one of Queen Bey's songs had been leaked.

Because of the leak, the song had already gained some traction so it eventually was made a single.

If you still don't think this song fits a Halloween theme, well, according to Wikipedia, "Many music critics noted that several components of "Sweet Dreams" are reminiscent of the songs on Michael Jackson's 1982 album Thriller."

So there.

"Sweet Dreams" peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart, #1 on Rhythmic Top 40 chart, and #5 on the US Pop Songs chart.
