Throwback Thursday – Smash Mouth ‘Walking On The Sun’ (1997)

Smash Mouth was in the news recently due to frontman, Steve Harwell, freaking out when bread was thrown at him during a performance in Colorado.

Honestly, I can't blame him. I mean, I wouldn't want someone throwing bread at me while I'm doing my job. Rude.

Plus, I met Steve Harwell briefly after a show Smash Mouth played in Council Bluffs at The Stir Cove and he seemed perfectly nice.

Anyway, "Walking on the Sun" was Smash Mouth's debut single. It introduced them to the world in 1997. It went to #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock and Adult top 40 Chart and #2 on the Hot 100 Airplay Singles and Top 40 Mainstream chart.
