Throwback Thursday – Outkast ‘Ms. Jackson’ (2000)
"Ms. Jackson" was the second single off of Outkast's album, Stankonia. It was released in October of 2000.
According to Wikipedia the song went on to attain accolades such as:
It topped the U.S. charts for the week of February 17, 2001, and won a 2002 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.
The song is about stormy relationships and how the animosity of a woman's mother towards her boyfriend or husband can affect the relationship.
The storm theme continues in the video when the rain rolls in. The video also contains some very cute animals!
I have one question after watching this video. If it is cold enough for Andre 3000 to wear a hat and scarf, then why doesn't he have a shirt on?
