Throwback Thursday ‘Maybe’ by Sick Puppies (2010)
Sick Puppies is a band out of Australia.
They formed in Sydney in 1997.
The only original member of the band is bass player, Emma Anzai.
At the time of the release of "Maybe", the other two group members were Mark Goodwin and Shimon Moore.
Shimon Moore was kicked out of the group in 2014. He was replaced by Bryan Scott.
"Maybe" was the third single off of the band's third album, Tri-Polar.
This song was the one that helped the band make a splash in the United States and was a bit of a crossover hit for them.
According to Wikipedia, "'Maybe' was the band's first song that made it into the Hot 100, peaking at No. 56... On the Alternative Songs chart, the song peaked at No. 6. It became their first single to reach the Mainstream Top 40 chart, as well as their first international charting single."
The music video for "Maybe" stars two actors, Tanner Novlan and Kayla Ewell, who are fed up with their lives. Well, in real life, the two got married five years after making this music video!
The performance sequence was filmed in the Mojave Desert.
On a personal note, I met the band in 2011 when they played a show in Brookings!
