Martin Page is a British sing/songwriter from Southampton, Hampshire, England.

A lot of people wonder what the heck is he talking about in this song. Well, the first line of the song refers to Mt. Kailas, which is located near the land of Shambhala. Shambhala is a mythical town in Tibetan culture.

'The House of Stone and Light' is the term the native american tribe, the Havasupai, use for the Grand Canyon. The Havasupai consider the Grand Canyon to be sacred.

Martin Page spent some time at the Grand Canyon and was reflecting on his life, when the inspiration for the song struck.

"In the House of Stone and Light" went on to #14 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and all the way to #1 on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary chart.
