Throwback Thursday “I Know” by Dionne Farris (1995)

I've been watching a lot of ER on Hulu, so I'm in a 90s frame of mind.

"I Know" by Dionne Farris was a huge song in 1995. I remember we took a road trip/ family vacation to Texas that Summer and this song was on the radio non-stop! It was inescapable.

Dionne Farris was formerly in the group Arrested Development and then went solo with "I Know."

It was the first single off of her debut album, Wild Seed, Wild Flower. 

According to Wikipedia:

Radio & Records magazine ranked "I Know" as the number-one most played song on mainstream Top 40/CHR radio stations for 1995 and spent 10 consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart (April 1–June 3, 1995)

I believe it! I think I heard it every time it was on the radio during that road trip.

"I Know" went to #4 on Billlboard Hot 100.

Dionne Farris was nominated for a Grammy for the song in the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance category in 1996. Sadly, she lost to Toni Braxton and her hit, "Unbreak My Heart."
