Sometimes I just have a hard time thinking of a good Throwback Thursday song, so this week I asked for suggestions on Facebook and Twitter.

There were a lot of good suggestions, but I went with "Freek-a-Leek" by Petey Pablo.

"Freek-a-Leek" was the second single off of Petey Pablo's second album, Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry.

In May of 2004, "Freek-A-Leek" peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and went to #2 on Billboard Rap Songs chart.

The song garnered criticism for its explicit content. According to Wikipedia, David Jeffries of AllMusic, "Pablo rattles off the names of different drugs, girls and sexual positions as if he was checking off his grocery list".

Fun fact: Lil Jon made the beats for "Freek-A-Leek" and it was actually given to Usher for "Yeah!" So there were two songs with the same beats. There was some kind of mix-up so eventually "Yeah" was reworked and they became two separate songs. Crazy right?
