Throwback Thursday ‘Desert Rose’ by Sting (2000)

I have no real reason that I picked this song besides the fact that I just like it. If you don't like it, you can just go ahead and get yourself a morning radio show and pick whatever song you like for Throwback Thursday!

Anyway, "Desert Rose" by Sting was released in 2000. It was from Sting's album, Brand New Day. 

Fun fact: the song is a story about Adam's agony after being exiled from Eden. Eve is the 'desert rose.' Whoa! Mind blown! Didn't know that.

"Desert Rose" features Cheb Mami, he is a Rai singer from Algeria.

The song peaked at #17 on Billboard Hot 100, #5 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play, and #3 Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart.

The song was also used in Jaguar commercials in 2000.
