Raise your hand if you totally forgot about this song until right now! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

I think this song popped up on some playlist I found and I immediately knew I had to share it for Throwback Thursday.

"Dance With Me" by Debelah Morgan was the first single off of her third album also titled, Dance With Me.

Debelah Morgan was born in Detroit, Michigan, but moved to Arizona where she won Miss Teen Black Arizona.

According to Wikipedia, "The song peaked at number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart on January 6, 2001 (after reaching the Top 40 on October 3)."

"Dance With Me" also went to #4 on the US Dance Club Songs chart and #8 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart.

Most recently, in 2015 she collaborated with All-4-One and Shanice on a song entitled, "Go to Bed".

"Dance With Me" samples a song called "Hernando's Hideaway" by Archie Bleyer from 1954. There is a nod to that song in the music video.

The music video shows Debelah showing up at a dance club called Hernando's Hideaway! I see what you did there! Anyway, she shows up with her girls and, well, they dance. Two men vie to be Debelah's dance partner and then a dance battle ensues! But, don't worry, it's all in good fun.
