You guys, this song is 20 years old! How did that happen?!?!?!

Ok, so, I went to a 90s/Throwback themed New Year's Eve party and in preparation for that I listened to a lot of older music, so get ready for some 90's and 00's realness for the next couple weeks!

"Butterfly" by Crazy Town was off of the album, The Gift of Game. The song has a sample of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song, "Mother's Milk."

Members of Crazy Town at the time were Bret Mazur on vocals, Shifty Shellshock (real name Seth Binzer) on vocals, DJ AM on turntables, and James Bradley Jr. on drums.

"Butterfly" shot up the charts and put the band on the map. It went to #1 in 15 countries including the US. It was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as US Alternative chart, #2 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart, and #6 on the US Rhythmic chart.

Crazy Town and the song alike, however, became something that people loved to hate.

According to Wikipedia, "It was named the 34th "Most Awesomely Bad Song Ever" by VH1.[7] It was also rated number 3 on Billboard's chart for one-hit wonders of the 2000s, compiled in 2009."

But we all know every word! No shame here!

Fame and money brought problems for many members of the group. Shifty Shellshock is very open with his drug problem. He was on more than one season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. DJ AM was no longer with the band, but sadly passed away in a plane crash in 2009.

The band has gone through many different lineups and released music on and off since 2000.
