Throwback Thursday – Britney Spears ‘My Only Wish (This Year)’ (2000)

Britney Spears just celebrated her birthday on the second so I thought it was only appropriate that she be honored on this Throwback Thursday.

And seeing as how it is December, I chose her holiday classic, "My Only Wish (This Year.)"

It's a toe tapper.

"My Only Wish (This Year)" was recorded for a compilation album entitled Platinum Christmas that was released in November of 2000. Britney actually co-wrote the song.

Other notable artist on the album include NSync, Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, and Whitney Houston.

There was no official music video made for the song so here is the audio. This begs the question though, why wasn't there a music video made? I can see it now, Britney decked out in all white, walking through a snowy Christmas tree farm singing her little heart out. Then cut to a cozy cabin and hot cocoa and Britney sitting in front of the fireplace.
