In honor of Beyonce taking over Netflix with her Homecoming documentary, I thought I would pick a Beyonce song for this week's Throwback Thursday song.

"Baby Boy" was off of Beyonce debut solo album, Dangerously In Love.

"Baby Boy" was the second single off the albumb. It was after "Crazy In Love" and before "Me, Myself, and I."

In 2005 there was a copyright infringement lawsuit regarding the "Baby Boy." Songwriter, Jennifer Armour, claimed that the song was ripped off of her song, "Got a Little Bit of Love For You."

According to Wikipedia, "The district court judge nonetheless ruled that she, herself, couldn't hear the similarities between the two songs and dismissed the case, denying the motion for the songs or case to be heard by a jury.[23] On appeal, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit affirmed the district court's ruling, but ruled with different reasoning."

The music video was filmed over two days in Miami, Florida and was directed by Jake Nava.

"Baby Boy" basically dominated the charts! It went to #1 on Billboard's Hot 100, Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Mainstream Top 40, and Rhythmic charts. That is a lot of #1!

And #2 on Billboard Dance Club Songs chart!
