Some would argue that Shaggy's most memorable/biggest song is "It Wasn't Me," but I think that song is overrated, so I picked "Angel" for today's Throwback Thursday song.

"Angel" was the single after "It Wasn't Me" off of Shaggy's album, Hot Shot. "Angel" features a singer from Barbados, Rayvon.

If "Angel" sounds familiar to you that is probably because it samples "The Joker" by Steve Miller Band and "Angel of the Morning" by Chip Taylor.

"Angel" went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the Mainstream Top 40 chart.

According to Wikipedia, "Angel" was the 17th most successful song of 2001 in America!

The music video was directed by Cameron Casey and it is so 2000 it hurts. The clothes, the cars, the cheesy special effects. Gotta love it! .

Shaggy recently appeared on this season of American Idol and performed "Angel" with contestant, Bumbly. Unfortunately, Bumbly didn't make it to the next round.
