Mitchell is here on a Thursday so I let him pick the Throwback Thursday song.

And he chose Ace of Base.

Ace of Base is a Swedish band made up of members Ulf Ekberg and three siblings, Jonas BerggrenLinn Berggren and Jenny Berggren.

They are third most successful Swedish band of all time behind ABBA and Roxette.

"All That She Wants" by Ace of Base came out in 1992. It was the second single from their first album, Happy Nation. And in 1993, it was the lead single from the album, The Sign, that was released in the U.S.

In this song, the word 'baby' is a synonym for boyfriend. She's not talking about wanting more kids.

According to Wikipedia, "The single was certified platinum in the United States, where it peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was one of the best-selling singles of that year."

The article goes on to say, "...it was blocked from the top spot by "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" by Meat Loaf, for two weeks, and "Again" by Janet Jackson, for one week. The song was a very successful radio hit in the United States, sustaining the number one position on the US Billboard Top 40 Mainstream[16] chart for nine consecutive weeks."

The music video was super low budget. The music video features the Danish actress and singer-songwriter Christiane Bjørg Nielsen. Did you spot the clarinet in the music video?!?! Clarinets for life!
