Throwback Thursday ‘Sugar (Gimme Some)’ by Trick Daddy (2005)
"Sugar (Gimme Some)" was the second single off of Trick Daddy's sixth studio album, Thug Matrimony: Married to the Streets.
Maurice Samuel Young, better known as Trick Daddy, is a rapper from Miami. He has 10 siblings!

"Sugar (Gimme Some)" has a couple versions. The original features Cee-Lo Green and Ludacris.
The music video was made for the remix which features Lil' Kim and removed Ludacris' verse.
The music video was filmed in Trick Daddy's hometown, Miami! It also features a cameo from Fat Joe.
Fun fact: "Sugar (Gimme Some)" samples a Talking Heads song called "Sugar on my Tongue". That video is below!
This song peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100, #14 on the US Billboard Rhythmic Top 40, #12 on US Billboard Rap Songs, and went all the way to #4 on the US Billboard Pop 100!
Trick Daddy has had some difficulties. He has been diagnosed with lupus, has filed bankruptcy, and his ex-wife asked for a divorce in 2018 while on VH1's Love & Hip Hop: Miami Season 2 reunion. Ouch!
As if that wasn't enough, he's had run-ins with the law since he was 15, but in January of 2020 Trick Daddy was pulled over for drunk driving in Miami, failed the sobriety test, and was found with cocaine on him.
