Today (April 4, 2019) is National Vitamin C Day so I had to do a Vitamin C song! It was a no brainer! Duh!

Vitamin C was born Colleen Ann Fitzpatrick. She started off as an actress and was even in the original Hairspray in 1988 as Amber Von Tussle opposite Ricki Lake as Tracy Turnblad.

She turned to music in the early 90's in a band called Eve's Plum before deciding to pursue a solo career.

She was signed in 1998 and became Vitamin C!

"Smile" was the debut single from Vitamin C. It was on her debut album, cleverly titled, Vitamin C.

According to Wikipedia, "'Smile' became Vitamin C's highest charting single to date, peaking at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales chart, #21 on the Top 40 Mainstream chart and #18 on the Hot 100, becoming her only single to reach the Top 20 and her first single to reach the Top 40...The single went Gold in the U.S., as certified by the RIAA for sales in excess of 500,000.[2] The song became her first hit off her platinum-selling debut album. The song was also frequently used in advertising for Hershey's chocolate in the early 2000s."

The music video features Lady Saw and is set in a Sam Goody music store. For you youngins, Sam Goody was a store that people would go to to buy music. The music would be on a cassette tape or a compact disc or possibly even a vinyl record.
