January means it is Burger Battle season!

This year there are a whopping 16 burgers to try and I am trying to get through them all.

This year, voting is done via Downtown Sioux Falls' new app! It is called the DTSF Passport. It is so slick, smooth, and user-friendly. You can find out more about the Burger Battle and the app here.

Blarney Stone is up next.

Blarney Stone's challenger in this year's battle is the Fuisce (Fwishkah) Burger. It is described as, "An 8 oz. Certified Angus Beef Patty served upon Mixed Greens, topped with Smoked Cheddar, Blue Cheese crumbles, Bacon, Guinness Caramelized Onions and an Irish Whiskey Glaze. Served on a toasted Wheat Bun with a pickle and your choice of one side."

A quick Google search tells me that fuisce is Irish for whiskey! Which got me real excited. However, I hate to say this, I did not really like this burger. Something about it just did not please my taste buds.

I'd like to know what the whiskey glaze consisted of besides whiskey because I just got a lot of Worcestershire sauce flavor. I'm not a huge fan of blue cheese in general and the mixed greens seemed an odd choice.

The Fuisce Burger did not have the luck of the Irish on it's side. The waffle fries were delicious though!

11 down. 5 to go.
