Snow Day For Sioux Falls Public Schools Monday

The Sioux Falls School District announced that they will not have school on Monday, January 9, 2024.

"Hello SFSD Families - Due to the forecasted snow and Winter Storm Warning, there will be No School tomorrow- Monday, Jan 8, 2024. This also means the CLCs (formerly Kids Inc.) will be closed tomorrow. This will NOT be a Virtual Learning Day - as those days can only be used when weather can be predicted in advance so all students have the ability to bring their devices home to complete lessons online. Tomorrow will be a traditional snow day. Stay safe." - District Message To Parents
Winter Storm Warning For Sioux Falls Sunday Into Monday
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for parts of South Dakota, including Sioux Falls, from Sunday evening (1/7) through Tuesday morning (1/9).
In Sioux Falls, snow is expected to start late Sunday night and continue through the day Monday. Winds are expected to pick up Monday and temperatures will drop into the teens Monday night.
HOW MUCH SNOW WILL SIOUX FALLS GET?
Heavy snow is expected with 6 to 10 inches of snow possible. Difficult driving conditions are expected.
