Ever since we learned about Venice in school, my mind was blown!

A city on water! What?!?!?!

I learned that Venice is a series of islands connected by canals. For some reason, in my mind I thought all the 'land' area was built on stilts or something. It's still cool!

I'm so glad I got to see it before it sinks into the ocean.

However, one thing that made me slightly sad was how commercialized this historic and culturally awesome place was. The parts of Venice I saw just seemed like a big mall. I know there is more Venice, the 'true' Venice. Maybe someday I'll go back and explore further.

But the food was good! So good in fact that the crazy pigeons would basically fight you for it. The birds there had no fear. But I was afraid of them.

Anyway, I got to see the city on water in all it's glory!

The best part, hands down, was the gondola ride!
