Looking for a new home or maybe a vacation spot? What if I told you that you could purchase a home in the hills of Italy for just $1? Well now you can! The town of Ollolai on the island of Sardinia, is selling hundreds of homes in the region for just $1 according to CNN.

The reason behind the deal is that younger residents have been moving away to bigger cities. The towns population has shrunk from 2,250 to 1,300 and the mayor and city officials don't want their small town to become a ghost town.

But there is a catch, the homes that are for sale are in poor condition and and buyers must commit to a refurbishment within three years which will likely cost you around $25,000. Which isn't bad considering the climate. According to Weatherspark, Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 32°F to 85°F and is rarely below 25°F or above 92°F.
