The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska. This includes Sioux Falls. The Advisory is in effect from midnight tonight until 6:00 PM Friday.

Snow and blowing snow are expected to develop overnight and continue through the day. Winds will pick up, gusting as high as 55 mph. Only about an inch of snow is expected, but combined with the winds will make travel hazardous.

"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage," the NWS said.

  central, and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 6 PM CST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
  Strong winds could cause tree damage.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds and snowfall will result in
  visibilities as low as one half mile. Conditions may rapidly
  change over short distances.
