The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for much of eastern South Dakota including Sioux Falls Saturday afternoon and evening (July 13, 2024).

Hot temperatures and high humidity are in the forecast for this weekend. Be prepared, the heat may cause heat illnesses. "Peak heat index values near 100 to 106 degrees are expected," The National Weather Service says.

"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors."
