Will It Be Cold for Trick-or-Treating This Year?

Halloween weather in Sioux Falls can be a little tricky. We've had blizzards, heat waves, and freezing-cold trick-or-treating weather. But, luckily, this year looks to be a perfect example of an autumn day in South Dakota.

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls (NWS), Halloween 2025 is looking to be mostly dry and chilly. It shouldn't be so cold that you’ll have to hide your costume under a heavy coat, but cold enough for you to be comfortable under the felt and polyester layers.

What to Expect for Halloween Weather in Sioux Falls

"Mostly dry conditions will dominate the rest of this week into the weekend, though we may see a few light showers for Halloween activities on Friday. After areas of early morning fog, a mild and windy Thursday will give way to chilly temperatures for Halloween and Saturday with highs in the 40s. The cooldown will be brief as warming temperatures are expected again early next week." - NWS
