The City of Sioux Falls is exploring rate hikes for four of its five utilities.

According to the Public Works Department, single-digit increases are being proposed for:

  • Water purification
  • Water reclamation (sewer)
  • Storm drainage
  • Sanitary landfill

The City says the rate increases are needed to keep pace with 'utility maintenance and construction needs'.
