It's Pride in Sioux Falls!!!

"Same Love" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis was the third single from their album, The Heist.

According to Wikpedia, the song "was recorded during the campaign for Washington Referendum 74, which, upon approval in November 2012, legalized same-sex marriage in Washington State." However, the song went on to be an anthem for equal rights across the country.

Mary Lambert is featured on vocals for the chorus and is a Seattle native just like Macklemore. The chorus for "Same Love" became Mary's breakout solo single, "She Keeps Me Warm".

The cover for the single of "Same Love" features Macklemore's real life uncle John and his husband, Sean.

The music video for "Same Love" was directed by Ryan Lewis and Jon Jon Augustovo. It depicts the life of a gay man and his partner and all of their trials and tribulations.

The music video won the 2013 MTV Video Music Award for Best Video with a Message.

One very notable performance of the song was during the 56th Grammy Awards. During the performance Queen Latifah joined Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Mary Lambert onstage to officiate 33 same-sex marriages! Madonna joined the performance by the end with her song, "Open Your Heart".

It was nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammys that year, but sadly lost to "Royals" by Lorde.

"Same Love" peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, #3 on US Rhythmic Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
