‘The Last Jedi’ Was Good Because It’s Different [NO SPOILERS]
This little post will be spoiler free, read without worry.
I went to Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Thursday night. I was blown away by it. I didn't think the The Force Awakens could be outdone but it was.
I won't give a thing away when I say this but the movie was different than its predecessors. And I think that's why I loved it so much.
Friday morning I get a text from a buddy that said he didn't think it was very good. Not as good as The Force Awakens. I asked why and he gave me a list of eight things he didn't like. With the exception of one, I completely disagreed and thought they were reasons it was great.
The flavor of this movie was different. That tone was set early on and it stayed consistent through the movie. (I'm being intentionally vague so as to not paint anyone's view of the movie before they go in.)
If you want this to be like the other four Star Wars movies (yeah, I said FOUR) you could be disappointed because it will be different. You will be on your toes.
If you have seen the movie and didn't like it I don't know what to say other than you must hate fun. I had so much fun watching this movie. 8 year-old me lost his mind. I grew up with it but even if you didn't, it's just fun.
