The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for much of eastern South Dakota, including Sioux Falls, in effect this afternoon and evening until 8:00 PM Tuesday (July 22).

Hot weather is back in the Sioux Empire this week. Plus, we have some moist, humid air mixing with that heat, making things generally unpleasant outside. The humidity will push the heat index into the triple digits.

"While high temperatures today will be seasonally hot, from the upper 80s to mid 90s, dew point temperatures in the mid and upper 70s will make it very difficult for the body to cool itself. Stay safe out there today!" The National Weather Service said Tuesday.

"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors."
