A Minot, North Dakota man has been picked up on pimping charges in Sioux Falls.

"Monday afternoon Street Crimes Officers received a tip that there was prostitution taking place at a Northeast Sioux Falls hotel," explained Police Spokesman Sam Clemens.

"They were able to figure out who was staying there. They saw an ad on the internet that matched up with that information," explained Clemens. "While they were outside, there were two men who were possibly involved in this activity."

"The officer identified himself as a police officer. One man ran back inside the hotel. The other stayed outside. Eventually, they were able to sort it all out. The man who ran away was the one who brought a woman to Sioux Falls from North Dakota to engage in some prostitution or sexual activities."

Clemens identified the man as 23-year-old Daniel Cody Hammon.

"He was arrested for pimping. The woman has not been charged with anything at this time."

Clemens says there is a possibility there could be additional charges or other people arrested.
