Man Set to Break World Record For Hugs

A man named David Parsons lost a friend to cancer. So he decided to try to break the Guinness World Record by giving the most hugs anyone has ever given in one day. His goal is 10,000. While he managed to give only 3,162 hugs yesterday in Los Angeles, he still was able to raise $2,062 — and is currently planning his second attempt. David is looking to raise money for Grants Wishes, which is a foundation that helps children battling cancer. He says:

 "My number-one goal was always just to raise funds and awareness for Grants Wishes,"

The current world record is 8,709 hugs in 24 hours, achieved by Jonathan Sacks in Nashville.
