Minnesota's Skies Set to Glow with 'Pink Moon'

Pink Moon Will Light Up Minnesota's Skies

A full moon happens when the moon is directly opposite the sun, making its entire surface visible from Earth, occurring about once every month. This month, it's known as the pink moon.

After dinner tonight, take a moment to head out onto your deck with your kids and enjoy the sight of the pink moon shining at its brightest. According to experts, it's expected to reach its peak illumination at 6:49 p.m.

What Is a Pink Moon?

Apologies for any letdown, but the moon won't be pink. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, each full moon of the month is given a unique name, and April's is referred to as the Pink moon due to the wildflowers that usually blossom during this time.
