Popular Sioux Falls Restaurant Closing Eastside Location
A restaurant that has been part of the Sioux Falls dining scene for most of the last 45 years is closing the doors at one of its two locations.
Monday (August 19) afternoon, The Keg Chicken made an announcement on its Facebook page that the east side location on Arrowhead Parkway is closing.
The Keg’s westside location remains open at 4211 West 12th Street.
The Keg first opened at the corner of 10th Street and Bahnson Avenue in Sioux Falls in 1979. It remained in that location until 1995 when it moved to 26th Street and Sycamore Avenue.
Five years later, the restaurant relocated to a larger space in the same east side strip mall.
In 2005, The Keg added a west side location at 57th Street and Marion Road.
The east side restaurant closed in 2010, followed by the west side location in 2012.
After a three year absence from the Sioux Falls restaurant scene, The Keg returned in 2015, opening in its current West 12th Street location, later adding the Arrowhead Parkway restaurant.
Over the years, The Keg has served nearly 14 million pieces of chicken.
