It’s My Birthday! Check Out All the ‘Swag.’
Today is my day of birth. I turned 28 today. I don't know if I should admit that now because down the road I might want to lie about my age and now I can't because there will be evidence.
Anyway, I share my birthday with my mom and my maternal grandpa.
I always thought it was pretty cool that I shared my birthday with my mom. I never knew my grandpa, but it is still cool to have our tradition of February 4th birthdays.
I didn't realize until I got older that my mom did most of the sharing. As a kid, I always got a birthday party or a sleepover and all that stuff.
We would take her to dinner and get her gifts, but it wasn't nearly as big of a deal.
I would just like to say thank you to my mom for sharing her birthday with me.
Now, enough with the sappy stuff.
So, I know a lot of people take their birthday off from work, but why do that? You don't get any attention when you do that.
If I had stayed home today no one would be there to wish me a happy birthday or give me presents.
If I come to work then I get birthday wishes and maybe a couple gifts.
Sure the gifts from co-workers can seem forced, but it is the thought that counts, right?
Take a look at my loot from today!
A Mountain Dew from Jonny V. (Which he has a ton of because he won a Super Bowl bet.)
The birthday flowers from Results Radio! Thanks! Aren't they pretty. Love purple and the sunflowers!
And a breakfast burrito from Andy! Love me some TJ's!
See, if I hadn't come to work on my birthday, none of this would be mine!
