Gas Prices at Lowest Point in a Decade
Gas prices are ridiculous right now. And while it's nice on your wallet, that isn't necessarily a good thing in the grand scheme of things considering the last time they were that low was the recession over a decade ago.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in South Dakota sits at $1.63. That is $1.18 less than it was a year ago. The price is down six cents since last week and 35 cents lower than a month ago.
“AAA forecasts that the national average will continue to decrease into next month, possibly dropping as low as $1.65,” said Marilyn Buskohl, AAA spokesperson. “We haven’t seen gas prices that cheap since January 2009.”
The average price of gas in Sioux Falls is eleven cents lower than the state average at $1.52 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com. The lowest price for gas in Sioux Falls is just $1.39 at Costco. That is followed by the Freedom station on Minnesota Avenue at $1.42, Sam's Club is $1.44. Many places have gas for $1.49.
