Organizations across the state will be serving free meals to South Dakota kids this summer. It's part of the Summer Food Service Program and Seamless Summer Option.

Children age 18 and younger can get a meal free of charge at participating sites, which include organizations such as nonprofits, schools, libraries and local governments.

Families have a variety of ways to access the most current information on locations and the dates and times of meals throughout the summer with one of these methods:

  • The USDA Summer Meal Site Finder www.fns.usda.gov/summerfoodrocks
  • The information is also available by texting “Food” or “Comida” (Spanish) to 877-877
  • People can also call 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (Spanish)

Feeding sites will be added to the Summer Meal Site Finder regularly; so, it is important to check back periodically.

Some locations in and near Sioux Falls include:

  • EmBe Childcare, 300 W 11th Street
  • Our Savoir Lutheran Church, 909 W 33rd Street
  • Brandon Valley Elementary School, 501 Holly Blvd Brandon, SD
