Few things excite Sioux Falls more than the opening of a new restaurant. Especially if it's a national chain. It has been nearly five years since the famous Chick-fil-A restaurant finally opened a location in Sioux Falls.

A Long-Awaited Second Sioux Falls Location

After years of wishing and waiting, in September of 2021, what will now be known as Sioux Falls' FIRST Chick-fil-A restaurant opened at Empire Place next to the Empire Mall on the city's west side.

Now, in January 2026, Sioux Falls' second Chick-fil-A location is ready to open.

It was August of 2025 when we first heard the news that the national chain had applied for a building permit for a second Sioux Falls restaurant. This one would be built on the expanding east side of town at 4900 E. Arrowhead Parkway.

Since then, eastsiders' mouths have been watering as they watch the new building go up in a formerly vacant lot along E. Arrowhead.

When the East Side Chick-fil-A Will Open

The building has gone up quickly, likely thanks to the relatively mild winter. And according to the shiny new sign, the east side Sioux Falls Chick-fil-A will open for business on January 15, 2026.

Well, I should say that this will actually be the third Chick-fil-A store in town if you count the one on the campus of Augustana University in the Morrison Commons building.

The waiting is almost over.
