This is more than just a fireplace. It's called Ascendance from Metaplace Industries and Touch of Modern is selling it for a mere $499,000. And that is a bargain! Ascendance is on sale. The original price was $750,000.

Ascendance is 60"L x 60"W x 108"H and weighs a whopping 7,850 lb or 3,560 kg. This fireplace is suggested for outdoor use. That is one heck of a fire pit!

It is a one-of-a-kind fireplace made of petrified wood. The Touch of Modern website explains this further, "Petrified wood is the fossilized remains of terrestrial vegetation, created through a process known as permineralization. The gemstone-based material is formed over the span of millions of years as the tree’s original organic matter is replaced by minerals, inspiring the original vision of Metaplace to create a standalone fireplace out of an individual trunk."

The base is made of concrete and the trunk has been turned into a fully loaded fireplace. It operates with natural gas and has a radio frequency remote and even Bluetooth! While functional as a fireplace, it is also art. The piece is depicting a tree being struck by lightning and burning from within.

The creator picked the tree himself in Indonesia back in 2018. Metaplace is actually donating a continual 2% of its profits to Direct Relief Indonesia. That's actually pretty cool.
