One of the best resources for finding out which candies Americans love and love to hate, Candy Store, has fallen down on the job this year!

For some reason, they didn't hold their annual survey to find out what people love or hate in the Easter candy category. Nor did they give their opinion as to what the best and worst Easter sugar-filled treats are.

This means I will have to take matters into my own hands and actually create a list of "The Worst Easter Candy of All Time - 2022 Edition".

The National Retail Federation's (NRF) Easter 2022 survey revealed that 80% of Americans will be celebrating the holiday. The survey also found that people will spend an average of $169.79 on "Easter-related items".

Consumers are eager to return to their pre-pandemic holiday traditions, particularly as it relates to purchasing food and gifts for in-person celebrations this Easter.

Friends and family want to be together, and consumers are willing to spend money to make these events memorable.

With just more than half (51 percent) of consumers planning in-person celebrations, up from 43 percent the previous year, food will account for the largest spending category.  - -NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay

Even people who don't celebrate Easter, buy Easter candy (Right around $18.49 per person). 90 million chocolate Easter bunnies are made every year and they rarely go to waste!

Another Easter statistic that is no surprise, 81% of parents who make sure the Easter Bunny delivers plenty of sweets, will then steal candy from their kids' baskets!

The National Retail Federation (NRF) anticipates people will spend around a total of  $20.8 billion dollars on everything Easter this year. That is down from 2021 but, that is still a lot of jelly beans!

Speaking of jelly beans- -It is almost time for me to reveal the "Worst Easter Candy of All Time" for 2022.

And- - I know people have very strong opinions about what the worst and best, or most hated, most loved, Easter candies are.

So here, with apologies to anyone who loves them, (because I truly believe - "to each his own!") and keeping in mind, that this is only my opinion, are - -
