Last Thursday was a little strange for me. Hundreds of people filled a large room in the Sioux Falls Convention Center for the third annual United in Hope Luncheon to raise money for the Edith Sanford Breast Center. My wife, Crystal, and I had attended the first two of these events. What made it strange was that instead of sitting in a table towards the rear of the room, we were front and center because Crystal was the keynote speaker.

She was thankful that she did not have to give a twenty minute speech as the survivors had the previous two years. Instead a very well done 9-minute video was produced at our home telling the backstory and treatment process allowing Crystal to focus her speech more narrowly. I regret that there isn't video of her speech because she absolutely crushed it.

While the event has come and gone you can still give to the cause of funding the research that helped us return to normal life after a year of chaos and upheaval.
