Uma Thurman Burns Harvey Weinstein in Scathing Message: ‘You Don’t Deserve a Bullet’
Uma Thurman has unleashed her inner Beatrix Kiddo.
Last night (November 23), Thurman wished her followers a happy holiday and shared a few personal acknowledgments of her own. However, the warm salutation was brought to a screeching halt when the 47-year-old actress told an emotionally-charged confession that no one saw coming.
“I am grateful today, to be alive, for all those I love, and for all those who have the courage to stand up for others," the Bel Ami star began. "I said I was angry recently, and I have a few reasons, #metoo, in case you couldn’t tell by the look on my face,” she wrote in the caption.
The performer then turned her aim at Harvey Weinstein, dealing the final blow with a crushing reference line from a monologue given by her Kill Bill 2 persona: “I feel it’s important to take your time, be fair, be exact, so… Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! (Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators – I’m glad it’s going slowly – you don’t deserve a bullet) -stay tuned Uma Thurman.”
To those who are not privy, Thurman's latest reckoning follows a red carpet interview she gave with Access Hollywood in October when she was approached to comment about the score of women coming forward with testimonies of sexual harassment in light of the cannonade of sexual assault accusations facing Weinstein.
Thurman withheld her comments at the time, though she commended the myriad women for coming forward, before leaving it at: “I don’t have a tidy soundbite for you because I am not a child, and I’ve learned that when I’ve spoken in anger I usually regret the way I express myself. So I’ve been waiting to feel less angry and when I’m ready, I’ll say what I have to say.”
Doubling down on her declaration, Thurman took to her Twitter to express the positive reception she received for coming forward with her own testimony.
"For hours I’m trying to find the right words to thank every single one of your [sic] for your warm and supportive reactions," wrote the star. "You left me speechless. That tells its own story. Sometimes words aren’t needed. THANKS is all I can say. x"
Holding to her promises, Thurman's latest stand against the disgraced studio head and former Weinstein Company magnate seems more timely now than ever.
