Jennifer Lawrence Denies Harvey Weinstein’s Claim They Had Sex
Jennifer Lawrence is setting the record straight about her relationship with embattled producer Harvey Weinstein.
The actress recently spoke out amid rumors she had a sexual relationship with Weinstein. She told E! News that was untrue, maintaining that their relationship was nothing but "professional." Lawrence, 28, then called out his "predatory tactics and lies."
"My heart breaks for all the women who were victimized by Harvey Weinstein," she said. "I never had anything but a professional relationship with him."
Lawrence continued, "This is yet another example of the predatory tactics and lies that he engaged in to lure countless women."
The rumors in question stem from a lawsuit filed against Weinstein, obtained by Us Weekly, in which Jane Doe accuses the 66-year-old producer told her, "I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is; she has just won an Oscar."
Lawrence has spoken on Weinstein's behavior in the past, admitting that she knew him from the time she was 20, and that Weinstein has "only ever been nice to me." She claimed he was nasty toward her once, and she called him out and they moved on.
"Just speaking for myself, I had known him since I was 20, and he had only ever been nice to me – except for the moments that he wasn't, and then I called him an a------, and we moved on," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "He was paternal to me. So I needed a moment to process everything because I thought I knew this guy, and then he's being accused of rape. We all knew he was a dog, we knew that he was a tough guy, a brute, a tough guy to negotiate with."
