Here's proof that what goes around usually comes around - and in this case, it's something us "old-schoolers" have known about for quite some time..

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, millennials have discovered there's a whole new world out there when it comes to free TV - it's called antennas.

Little do they know that when we were growing up, the TV antenna was the only way we could get any stations to come in.

I remember we started out with, what we called at the time "rabbit ears." Those were the antennas that sat directly on top of the TV.

I remember my Grandma and Grandpa even putting a piece of tin foil between the two antennas. What exactly that did, I have no idea- other than look silly.

Then came the day when dad told us he was going to have a TV antenna installed on the top of the house - WHOA!!!

Not only did we get the Sioux Falls TV stations but we also could pull in the stations way down in Sioux City. That was big stuff at the time.

Nowadays, with cable and satellite, having over 200 TV channels to choose from is fairly common.

But thanks to digital technology, millennials have learned they can "cut the cord" and still watch free TV simply by hooking up an antenna.

In fact, many of the modern day antennas don't have to be mounted on the top of the house. Most are thin enough to where they can be placed behind the TV or next to it.

So, if you're looking to save a few bucks and are considering "cutting the cord," go out and buy yourself a TV antenna. Young people will think you're hip and cool.
