This is American Idol Live

Did you read the title of this story and hear Ryan Seacrest's voice because that's what I was going for.

Anyway, American Idol Live stopped by the Washington Pavilion and I had to check it out. American Idol had it's last season on Fox and then was quickly rebooted over at ABC. I have watched every season of American Idol including the new season.

I was excited to see this season's winner Maddie Poppe! She is a fellow Iowan so there is just an unspoken bond there! It was also really nice to see and hear that a bunch of her family and hometown friends were at the Sioux Falls show!

I gotta say Catie Turner and Michael J. Woodard stole the show for me. They would come on stage to help sing back up and they would dance around and just be all together cute! I loved it!

Kris Allen, the winner of season eight, was a special guest and I was pleased to see he was there throughout the show. I thought he would just come out for his set and that's it, but he played guitar and tambourine for the others as well as sang back up! His set BTW was amazing! It really reminded me why he won! So good!

In case you were wondering, Cade and Gabby are still together as are Maddie and Caleb!

Gabby Barrett blew me away with her rendition of "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore." I know a lot of people were bummed she didn't win, but I think she'll be OK.

All in all, it was great show and a lot of fun. I was disappointed that Jurnee wasn't there. Upon further research, she has been on vocal rest and took a break from the tour.

The opening group, Forever In Your Mind, was pretty fun to watch. Forever in Your Mind is made up of Emery Kelly, Ricky Garcia and Liam Attridge. Two out of the three are on Disney Channel shows so the younger people in the audience were swooning!
