A very large crowd of people gathered at 1st Avenue East and First Street in Downtown Duluth. Someone attempted to drive through the crowd of people during the protest.

He grabbed a sign, and the loudest thing he could think of - his guitar - and set up shop right outside the front door of Western Dental and Orthodontics.

As a precaution, some Main Street businesses in Mitchell, SD have boarded up their storefront windows with plywood according to Dakota News Now.

In person, seeing all the helpers and the businesses that were spared gave us hope.

Even though the violence appears to have subsided, the Sioux Falls Police Department will continue to monitor the situation.
