The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls is reporting that the winter storm that tracked through South Dakota this past weekend is finally winding down. But we will need to deal with one more day of hazardous travel today.

Light snow and strong winds will produce blowing snow much of today. The worst conditions will be this morning with conditions slowly improving this afternoon and tonight. Slow down and drive with care if out on the roads the next 24 hours.

As you can see below there were varying amounts of snowfall throughout the state. Here is the southeast we had warmer temps so much of the precipe we received fell as rain rather than snow. Driving continues to be difficult in many parts of South Dakota. But the good news is that by New Years Day we should see some sunshine with high temps in the 30s'.
