Summer in Sioux Falls is coming up quickly. Before we know it hot days and warm nights will be here. And the way things are looking to be plenty hot this summer, according to the Farmer's Almanac anyway.

Summer is one of the best times to be in Sioux Falls. We'll have all the free live music at the beautiful Levitt at the Falls. Our amazing hike and bike trail system will be winding through the city's beautiful parks as they come into full bloom.

And when it gets too warm and the kids are restless, the perfect place for summer fun is one of Sioux Falls' outdoor public pools.

The Sioux Falls outdoor public pools are distributed across the city. They provide a great summer spot for our neighbourhoods. Close enough to many to walk or bike to.

Of course, Sioux Falls has the indoor Midco Aquatic Center where you can swim year-round. A great thing to have in a place where winter can dominate eight months of the year.  But there is still something special about being in the water under the endless blue skies of SD.

Another great part of our public pools in Sioux Falls is the price. Spending all afternoon at the pool is a very reasonably priced way to enjoy summer. Plus, there are several free options for pool fun.

When Do Sioux Falls' Outdoor Pools Open for the Summer?

The outdoor public pools in Sioux Falls usually open for the season after Memorial Day, during the last week in May or the first week in June, weather permitting.
