Another school year is just about done in South Dakota. Summer break is looming with all it's college prep, jobs, and just enjoying the few weeks of break between school years.
The school year in South Dakota runs from August through May. From just before Labor Day until Memorial Day, usually. South Dakota state law requires that students in grades 6-12 spend at lease 962.5 hours in class. So if there are a lot of snow days, for example, the last day of school can be changed.
