Heat Advisory Issued As Summer Heat Intensifies Across The State
Summer in South Dakota is far from over, and Mother Nature is making sure we remember that. Heat and humidity are back to make everything gross and sweaty.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for parts of South Dakota that includes Sioux Falls, for Friday (August 8) afternoon and evening.
Hot temperatures will combine with rising humidity to create a heat index reaching 105 degrees.
Heat like that can really mess up your day; it can make you sick with heat-related illnesses.

The best thing to do is to stay out of the heat, if you can. If not, try to avoid the afternoon, take frequent breaks if you're working outside, and drink lots of water.
It's also a good idea to check on friends and family and make sure they are doing OK in the heat.
