I have never cracked or broken a screen on any smartphone I have ever owned. I ran a couple of flip phones through the washing machine, but I have never cracked or broken a screen on any of the three Androids and one iPhone I have owned. But I did mess up a different piece of glass.

For the first time ever I have messed up the glass on my phone. I don't think I would prefer to crack the screen, but this is certainly an annoying bit of breakage.

Somehow the main camera lens on my still flawlessly functioning iPhone 6S got scratched up pretty bad while it was in my pocket yesterday. I did have my keys in there, a pocket knife, and four quarters. I have no idea what got it, but something got it good.

I learned of it when I tried to take a pic of my son and found that the image in the screen was really hazy. I wiped the lens, nothing improved. I went to my dresser and pulled out an eyeglass cloth. Still no improvement. Then I looked at the lens more closely with some glare and realized it was scratched all to hell. I will get it fixed here soon, but in the meantime, I can take photos that look like they were taken in the 1800s.

Below are some sights in Sioux Falls that you may recognize through the haze of scratched glass. It is not a filter, I took clear versions of the same photos with the station phone.
